Hey friend.

Lover of Jesus, people, truth, and the local church. Central to my heart is the belief that women have more influence in one another’s lives than we often realize, for better or for worse. Who we surround ourselves with matters deeply to our walk with Christ. In a world that idolizes self-sufficiency and pushes isolation, becoming godly women and running towards a truly holy community couldn’t be more important.

At home, I am a wife and mom of five, learning to follow Christ within the beautifully ordinary rhythms of family life. My husband AJ and I get to call Georgia home, and much of what I share is shaped in real time by the joys and challenges of everyday faithfulness to the One who gave me more than I will ever deserve.

My Life

I have few words for how amazing these kids are, how sacred this week was, and how good our God is.

These middle schoolers showed up with willing hands, packing lunches for those in need, building and painting ramps to bring safe and easy access back to homes, stopping to pray for anyone placed in their path. And they did it all with a boldness so stinking far beyond their years.

It was the honor of a lifetime to witness their faith. These next generations are so hungry for truth and carry a love for the Lord that feels rare.

So grateful to have experienced this trip alongside my oldest, and expectant for all God will continue to do in and through their lives.

I know your yes to Jesus has cost you. If it hasn’t yet, someday it will. That’s not to discourage you as much as it is to tell you that it’s still so worth it… but you can’t walk that alone.

More than anything, I know how eager He is to answer this prayer. To give you holy community, and the gift of deeply rooted friendships. Relationships that can carry the weight alongside you, that show up for you, that pray for you, that protect your name and honor your heart in the rooms you aren’t in.

The road is hard regardless, but don’t let the enemy convince you that you are capable of navigating what is so so narrow alone. Because when it gets too heavy, your enemy knows you’ll leave.

Only trees with deep roots survive winter storms, and I serve a God who sees ahead of me in ways I can’t.

Somehow, all those seasons where the stretching felt unbearable, wound up as protection for seasons that hadn’t come yet. And only then did I see that what He was doing was mercy all along.

This is your permission to tell me the truth whenever I’m risking eternity, to be guardrails that keep my eyes on Jesus.

And just as much, it’s my promise to you that I’m willing to hear it, even when it hurts.

Because I know the kind of love that risks everything for my soul is far more valuable than protecting the feelings that are so often quick to lead me astray.

All those moments where I reached the other side and finally saw the bigger picture, it almost never looked the way I imagined, or the way I wanted it to.

And yet, every time, it somehow looked infinitely better.

I learned to yield to God’s will because the truth is this: if my life had gone my way, I’d still be standing where I started.

Wrapped up the busiest, most beautiful month of the year so far, spent in the company of some of my heart’s most favorite people.

Next week somehow gets even fuller because I get the honor of going on a missions trip with my oldest son and some of my sweet middle school girls from church. We’ll definitely be team #nosleep (as in truly zero sleep night one) but honestly, I can’t think of a more iconic, middle-school-esque way to kick off a week of making heaven a little more crowded.

If you have prayers to spare for safe travels, for soft hearts in these boys and girls, for the lives they’ll step into and serve (and some more the hearts of all their mommas while they are away), it would mean the world to me.

Photos seem to have special a way of deepening memories, so I’ll just leave these here to come back to again and again, and again. ♥︎

Are we living with our eyes fixed on heaven, or with eyes fixed on Jesus? Because I think one of the hardest things to come to realize is that there exists a difference between the two.

We can fixate on heaven as a reward and still misunderstand the gospel, because the promise was never just a place, but a Person. Those who misunderstood nailed that Person to a cross, with eyes somehow still situated on heaven.

If He wasn’t there, would our hearts still ache for it?

Proud of my big two and their wax museum project that culminated today! They worked so hard, and I’m not sure if you can tell… but they were 100% committed to their roles 😂 ever stop to just realize how much cooler your kids are than you?

Holy Week this year, I want to look to the cross long enough to be completely undone by it. In ways so irreparable that the only response left is to tell the whole world that Jesus loves them, because this, I finally, wholeheartedly know.

I forget that bringing my hopes to God isn’t selfish, even when it feels that way. Who am I to ask the Creator of all things for something for myself?

But I also forget that if I don’t ask, I’ll still reach for those same things… just in my own strength.

And maybe that’s the point. When I do ask, and He provides in His time, the credit doesn’t bend back toward me. Because it rises straight to Him where it belongs.

To start by saying that something she said was spot on is very much due, because God absolutely cares about the motives of our hearts. It’s exactly why Scripture says only give cheerfully! If you’re going to church to check boxes to heaven, it’s worthy of evaluating.

But the new movement and belief that everything exists to bring us peace can’t align with Jesus who said he didn’t come to bring us peace. He came knowing that following him would be costly, and that community would be difficult but was also thing he charged us with more than all else. Loving one another well means we can’t judge what’s worthy of our time or presence based on what feeds us the most when our hearts will always be bent towards ourselves.

No one (hopefully) is saying you have to serve your church until your feet bleed and you’ve lost all sense of self. “No” is a perfectly acceptable word!

But if the motivation behind our yes will be weighed, so will the heart behind our no.

I’ve learned that saying yes to Jesus often looks like saying no to myself. Sometimes that looks like loss at first, but that’s the thing about pruning… both clarity and fruit come later. Obedience is choosing to say yes to Him long before you see either.

Feelings can’t lead the way because our hearts can’t truly serve themselves and Jesus simultaneously. That doesn’t mean we demonize them either, because they were given to us for a reason.

I always think back to the night before Jesus was to be crucified. He wept knowing full well what was to come, begging God to take this from Him if it was His will. He went anyway. And that moment changed everything for us. Gosh… There’s no better example of allowing yourself to feel deeply but choosing the Lord regardless of how it makes you feel than Jesus’ in that moment.

Surrendering is so hard, and for good reasons, which is why our emotions are often so quick to cloud our judgement.

Wind. It failed because it lacked wind, and we too often pray for life to be absent of the winds that safeguard our growth because in the moment it feels unbearable.

It doesn’t mean we suddenly look at a suffering season as easy now, but it’s exactly why Scripture tells us time and time again to count suffering as joy.

It’s not because God expects you to smile through it all, but because it’s the wind that keeps you standing tall.

I love that we as humans sought to create a perfect environment, and naturally bent towards eliminating any stress, only for us to realize that we’ve been wrong about what perfection looks like all this time.

We don’t talk enough about flattery, maybe because it feels so close to love. We crave the affirmation and validation it brings, and that’s exactly why it’s so easily weaponized by the enemy.

This isn’t me warning against compliments, but against comfort that never corrects.

Someone who only ever agrees with you may care, but they aren’t guarding you. Eternity is just too weighty for soft friendships when holy ones are meant to sharpen.

Find yourself people willing to do both with grace.

My heart has held this news for a while, waiting until everything was finalized so I could share it, and today is that day!

I started my book late last year, and it found its way into the hands of someone who loved it.

And I am now signed and represented by my agent and sweet friend @swj_thewriter at Gardner Literary Agency, as we stepping into the next phase of the publishing process. It’s hard to fully capture what it means to have someone believe in you like that, but thank you to Sherri for your steady encouragement and for pushing me past my own limits time and time again.

I’m hoping that I’ll be able to share more in the months to come, for now I have a small season of rest and waiting and a whole lotta praying. But gosh… Lord, you have undone me completely. Praise is all yours.

Will He still be enough if you never get that apology, if that door never opens, or if you never get the thing you’ve been praying for?

The hardest places to stand are often the ones without resolution. Where we don’t get clarity, or closure, or the ending we imagined.

But staying there, without turning away, teaches our roots to reach deeper than answers.

My kids (being the perfectly normal kids that they are) love to yell, “Okay, I’m sorry, there!” at each other. And naturally, the other person never believes them.

It makes me wonder how often I do the same. Just listing what I’m sorry for because I know I should, saying the words without the intention of leaving the sin.

Maybe that’s the difference. Sorrow is often rooted in myself, but repentance is rooted in Christ.

Phew… I hear You, Lord.

Do not quit your season today.

Do not yield to what’s easier just because it’s quieter.

Winter always gives way to spring, and your endurance is writing something that you won’t fully understand until later… but it will matter more than you know.

To you.
And to someone else whose breakthrough will be tied, in part, to your decision to remain.

Who will lean on the fact that you didn’t leave this place when it asked everything of you.

I’m not sure there are enough words for this weekend. But what felt undeniable was the truth that God is boldly stirring the hearts of willing women to make Himself known. Looking out and seeing thousands gathered in humility, all fearlessly lifting His name, felt like we were all busy witnessing something sacred.

Shout out to the incredible leadership at Crosspoint City who (quite literally) poured themselves out to make this possible for us ladies, it was so beautifully done. And thank you to the women who brought the Word this weekend with courage and loved us well.

If year one of @wovenwomenconference is any indication, it seems clear that God isn’t finished yet.
